International Conference on Plant Vascular Biology 2010
http://www.ced.osu.edu/pvb2010conference/index.html
The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, USA
July 24-28, 2010
Co-Chairs: Biao Ding (The Ohio State University) David Hannapel (Iowa State University)
You are cordially invited to participate in the International Conference on Plant Vascular Biology 2010 (PVB 2010) to be held July 24–28, 2010 on the campus of Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, USA. PVB broadly covers studies on the biogenesis, structure and function of transport systems in plants, under conditions of normal plant growth and development as well as of plant interactions with pathogens. The transport systems broadly include the xylem, phloem, plasmodesmata and vascular cell membranes. The PVB concept has emerged in recent years to emphasize the integrative nature of the transport systems and approaches to investigate them.
PVB 2010 will bring together junior and senior researchers working on various aspects of PVB (structure, biogenesis, signaling, proteomics, genomics, nutrition, biomass, plant-biotic interactions, etc) from around the globe to share the latest findings, develop collaborations and identify new directions of research. The conference will also strive to bridge basic and applied aspects of PVB.
You will discover that PBV2010 will be an exciting scientific and personal experience. Ohio State University has a very diverse and vibrant research community in plant sciences and all other disciplines of biology. The city of Columbus and the state of Ohio offer diverse and rich recreational options in culture, history and nature.
The registration is now open.
Please note that travel grants are available for graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and junior investigators.
For more information about the conference and for registration, please visit the conference homepage (http://www.ced.osu.edu/pvb2010conference/index.html).
We look forward to welcoming you to Columbus in the summer!

11th International Symposium on the Genetics of Industrial Microorganisms (GIM 2010)
Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre
28 June to 1 July
The emphasis is on the contributions of genetics coupled to microbiology. New technologies may lead to new products from microbes, renewable and clean energy, bioremediation, microbial models and beneficial microbes.
The Conference was last held in Prague in 2006 and attracted over 800 delegates. The 2010 Conference will bring together the world’s leading academics, agricultural specialists, food/information/energy technologists, health specialists, molecular biologists and pharmaceutical researchers. For further information, contact the organiser Bree Richardson [brichardson@arinex.com.au].
Plant Membrane Biology (IWPMB2010 )
www.adelaide.edu.au/iwpmb2010/
Adelaide, South Australia
19th-24th September 2010
The IWPMB2010 will be held in Adelaide, South Australian and registration is now open and available at www.adelaide.edu.au/iwpmb2010/rego/.
Held triennially, IWPMB is the premier international conference for all those interested in processes related to plant membranes.
Over the last 45 years, IWPMB has provided a forum for healthy scientific discussion and the exchange of ideas, for the leaders in the field through to new postgraduate students.
Whilst presenting their own latest findings, plenary speakers will also provide a brief overview of recent advances in their particular field of research. We look forward to welcoming you to Adelaide preceding the meeting in Melbourne for OZBIO2010. www.adelaide.edu.au/iwpmb2010/
